Welcome to Kinver and District Horticultural Society 2025 is our Horti Centenary Year Our Society has survived for one hundred years. Why not come and join us for inspirational talks by expert speakers at our meetings. Horti is a friendly and welcoming society with regular monthly meetings, days out and events which are always well attended and supported. Membership is open to all and at only £15 for 2025, this includes regular monthly newsletters and updates, free tea, coffee and biscuits at our meetings and the opportunity to meet like-minded people and make new friends. Visitors are always welcome too. Why not bring a friend or family member along with you? Visitors pay £3.50 per visit.

Kinver Historical Society's new season will start on Wednesday 3 September. The 2025-2026 season will see our 70th anniversary and we will be celebrating it at our Christmas meeting on 3 December. Details to follow. In the meantime, we will kick-off our new season with a talk by lan Dixson entitled "One Night in March 1944". On 1 October Karen Evans will entertain us with "Where does my family come from? Unlocking the secrets of DNA testing". This will be followed on 5 November with the return of Val Campbell and a talk on "Dr James Barry", one of the world's first female surgeons - although she had to take on the identity of a man to achieve it. Our meetings are held at the Senior Citizens Club, Legion Drive and start at 7.45 pm. Visitors are welcome; a fee of £3 can be paid on the door. If you are interested in making new friends or catching-up with current ones, why not join Kinver Probus? Established in 2000, membership is for retired and semi-retired ladies and gentlemen who appreciate a monthly social gathering with a splendid lunch served at the Fox Inn, Stourton. After lunch speakers cover a variety of topics including local and national history, wildlife and general interest. Regular coach trips are another club benefit and have included visits to Bletchley Park and Windsor for the Christmas market. Local visits for 2025 have included Chaddesley Corbett Old School Museum, with a Drakelow Tunnels tour also planned. Forthcoming after lunch topics include growing up in a Black Country village and English model villages. Our Christmas lunch will be held on Wednesday 10 December with Mary Bodfish speaking on Christmas past to Christmas present.
