Narrowboat training - Royal Yachting Association Helmsman’s Course 9th and 10th April starting at 10am. Where: Starting above the Stewpony Lock in Stourton. Day one goes north from there, returning to the start point. Day two you’ll travel down to Kinver, returning to your start point at the end of the day. Details: Question: What’s better than walking along the canal towpath and watching the narrowboats gently floating past? Answer: Being on the boat, watching the world serenely glide by, and seeing life from a new perspective. On this two day course, you’ll learn how to handle a narrowboat effectively and safely, how to use canal structures such as locks and a range of other useful boating skills. You’ll have plenty of time to put your learning into practice as you become qualified at the helm along with up to two more people.
