Perhaps a cup of tea or coffee afterwards? If you do, come along to our Walking for Health group - no cost, no booking -just come along when you feel like it! We meet nearly every Monday morning, 10 am at The Edward Marsh Centre. We walk for about one hour 15 minutes, discovering different parts of Kinver and then go for a coffee/tea. Margaret Morris Movement International

Edward Marsh Centre

Classes take place on Tuesday mornings, 10 am to 11 am, at the Edward Marsh Centre. The autumn term runs from 9 September to 25 November, with half term 14 October. We concentrate on posture, deep breathing, spinal mobility, balance, muscle strengthening and co-ordination, essentials in movement to establish and maintain health. Each student has their own space, with a chair to help with balance and for some of exercises at this class are designed for a mature age group and can also be adapted for any disability. Exercises are aimed at increasing mobility in every part of the body, as well as developing suppleness, strength and stamina, according to the individual level of performance. It gives an understanding of how to correct breathing, to help improve posture. All this as well as balance, agility and co-ordination, using the body's natural opposition to strengthen muscles. Each exercise is a balanced phrase of movement to music with one or more physiological aims, good to look at and satisfying to perform. Loose trousers, tee shirt and soft shoes are ideal. Kinver Walking Group

Kinver Parish KINVER, Staffordshire, United Kingdom

This year we have actually had a "proper" summer with generally dry and often sunny Tuesdays for our walk. Numbers walking have continued to be steady and I'm pleased to say that we've had another new recruit recently. Please remember that on our walks, which start at 10 am on Tuesday, all are welcome whether you are a Kinver resident or not; you can join us as an individual or with a partner or friend. There is no cost involved and having tried the walks, which are usually five miles or so in length, if you wish to continue you will be very welcome. On the other hand, if you decide that it's not for you that will also be fine, you will not be bombarded with follow-up calls! Most of our walkers have other responsibilities which means that at certain times of the year, especially school holidays, their opportunities to join us are restricted, so if you're in that position no commitment to frequency of walking is necessary. We also have a WhatsApp group, so if you wish, you will be welcome to join this too. Mick Harrington, 01384 872399/07592 022266
