Classes take place on Tuesday mornings, 10 am to 11 am, at the Edward Marsh Centre.
The autumn term runs from 9 September to 25 November, with half term 14 October.
We concentrate on posture, deep breathing, spinal mobility, balance, muscle strengthening and co-ordination, essentials in movement to establish and maintain health.
Each student has their own space, with a chair to help with balance and for some of exercises at this class are designed for a mature age group and can also be adapted for any disability.
Exercises are aimed at increasing mobility in every part of the body, as well as developing suppleness, strength and stamina, according to the individual level of performance. It gives an understanding of how to correct breathing, to help improve posture.
All this as well as balance, agility and co-ordination, using the body’s natural opposition to strengthen muscles.
Each exercise is a balanced phrase of movement to music with one or more physiological aims, good to look at and satisfying to perform.
Loose trousers, tee shirt and soft shoes are ideal.
